How do you trim a wall to wall carpet accurately?

I have a heavy carpet that was removed from a church being remodeled. It is complete with the material used under the rug, and was glued to the flooring rather than stretched. I need to know how I can trim (cut) it accurately to fit an irregular wall, doors, etc. I will be using double stick carpet tape to hold it in place.

lay the rug down in the room and lift the edges to put chalk down along the wall. Place the rug down as tight as you can get it to the edge and it will leave a chalk cut out line on the back. You may have to trim the rug close to the finished size in small areas so the chalk will connect with the rug. I too think you should use tack strips instead of tape.

Step 3 - Trim the lace on the wig. You want to cut off a little lace at time. You should use scissors that will not fray the lace.

Step 4 - Apply the wig and decide where your hairline looks most natural. Once you determine the desired location of your hairline, lightly outline the area with the eyebrow pencil.

Step 5 - Apply the glue where your hairline will be. Let the glue dry before placing the wig on your head. When the glue is sticky to the touch it is time to apply your hair piece. Press the edges of the hair piece down using a tail comb.

If you would like a stronger hold, tie a silk scarf around the perimeter of your head while the glue is drying. This will secure your wig more firmly and provide a longer lasting hold.
